and leaves the customer not just satisfied, but delighted that they have gotten the most value for their money.  He also takes pride in the fact that all builders and remodelers can depend on Swartz for their exceptional depth and breadth of product and that Swartz stands behind every cabinet. Taking care of the builder/remodelers’ customer, then keeping the job on-schedule and in-quote has been greatly responsible for the long-term success of Swartz Kitchens & Baths.

Scott started from the “ground-up” in the company working in the warehouse.  Growing up in the family business, he was quite aware of his heritage.  Swartz Supply was founded in 1934 by his grandfather, Ken Swartz, as a coal hauling business.  Later the company provided plumbing, heating and air conditioning supplies.  In the 60’s his father, Bob Swartz shifted the focus to kitchen cabinetry and related products.  Even when that focus changed, the service and quality emphasis never changed.  Scott remembers when his mother, Shirley Swartz, actively involved for 10 years with the family business, hauled cabinets in her own car to a client after 5:00pm on a Friday evening because “they really needed them” for a job. This work ethic instilled in Scott the need to take care of every customer with the desire to exceed their expectations.  This is exactly what sets Swartz apart and establishes long-term relationships with clients.  After graduating from college in 1989, Scott joined the business full-time.  As Scott  matured in the business and he established great relationships with long-term talented employees as well as many great builders and contractors in Central, PA.

Through a positive, rewarding corporate environment, the Swartz team of professionals has experienced little turnover.  This is evident with the longevity of the team: Rick Light, Builder Group Sales, 28 years; Jerry Seibert, Operations Manager, 39 years; Tim Weaver, Sales, 38 years; Donna Felker, 21 years; Susan Chwan, 15 years; and Jim Rhodes,  Corporate Sales Manager, 22 years.

The decision to add a product line is an arduous process at Swartz.  The line must fill a need in the price/value spectrum AND must satisfy the expectations of Swartz in their management’s integrity, quality and customer service.  Currently, the product line in Swartz’s Showrooms includes Merillat, Dura Supreme, Woodmont Cabinetry, Colony Cabinetry, Kahles Custom Cabinetry, Smart Cabinetry, Kerrico Cultured Marble, Delta, Silestone Quartz Counter Tops, Dupont Corian, Granite, Elkay, Franke/Sinks and Kindred.  When remodelers and builders send their clients to Swartz, they can be assured of a thorough consultation with guidance on making their kitchen or bath attractive, functional and something they will love for a long time.  Swartz’s designers review blueprints with the client making revisions and changes, selecting moldings, hardware, door designs, and countertops giving hours of design capability.  Swartz is proud to display an inventory of $1.5 million of product.  Currently they service 23 counties in Central Pennsylvania, providing products to builders, architects, remodelers, commercial contractors, dealers, interior design companies, plumbing contractors, modular housing companies and the retail public.  Swartz’s inventory includes six cabinet lines of inventory for immediate delivery.
