What to Expect
At Swartz Kitchens & Baths, our designers work closely with you from the first showroom visit to the final walkthrough to create design that are uniquely suited to your lifestyle, your taste, and your budget. Whereas big box retailers purport to offer “free” design services, these recommendations are generally dependent on the product lines they sell, the software they use, and the accuracy of the information you provide– the person creating your “free” design won’t come to your home and do a walk-through with you.
At Swartz, our design process includes:
- an initial, general consultation
- up to four in-depth design appointments in our showroom
- up to two jobsite visits for measuring and design verification and
- your designer’s dedicated attention throughout the entire process from design to product recommendations to measuring to ordering to a final walk-through.
Why a Retainer?
Our experienced Swartz Kitchen & Bath designers create unique spaces for each and every one of our clients, tailored to meet your individual needs. There is no cookie-cutter process here – each design addresses your specific space, its function, your lifestyle, your design aesthetic, and, of course, your budget.
A design retainer is a non-refundable deposit for design services that is transferable to the purchase of products or services.
- You get the benefit of our design and planning expertise without having to commit to a project; design work performed under a retainer is yours to keep.
- 100% of the design retainer is applied to the purchase of materials (cabinetry, countertops, or other Swartz Kitchen & Bath products) if purchased within 120 days of the retainer agreement.
- Costs vary, based on the complexity of your project; retainer prices start at: $500.00 for a standard kitchen; $300 for a standard bathroom or a vanity with five or more cabinets; $300 for an office, laundry room, bar, etc.. When designing multiple rooms in a house, add-on fees range from $150-300 per room.
Where Else Can You Find Such Value?
Attempt to design a kitchen or a bathroom at a store that specializes in many different types of home improvement products, and you may run into staff members who lack knowledge and experience. At Swartz Kitchens & Baths, we know everything about the products we sell because it’s our specialty. It’s true – you can’t buy a gallon of paint, new batteries, a riding lawn mower, and a box fan at our showroom — but you can rest assured that as kitchen and bath experts, we are able to suggest the perfect products, layout, and finishes that address your specific needs. Our five showroom locations dedicated to only kitchen and baths products encompass nearly 16,000 square feet and feature over 65 fully accessorized kitchen displays and 55 bath vanity combination displays. You can see it before you buy it!
Thanks to our 100,000-square-foot distribution center in Harrisburg, PA, we can warehouse your kitchen or bath for up to 60 days until your project is ready. We deliver weekly to 24 counties in Pennsylvania, using our own trucks – not subcontracted, third-party haulers. And we can special order thousands of non-inventoried items from the country’s top vendors. Because we purchase millions of dollars in cabinetry, countertops, and accessories each year, we have extraordinary buying power which allows us to be price-competitive even with the big box retailers who don’t offer the level of knowledge and design expertise we offer our customers.
As members of your community, we seek to deliver the best products to our neighbors. Swartz Kitchens & Baths has been serving southeastern Central and Eastern Pennsylvania for over 85 years, designing well over 105,000 kitchens for homeowners just like you. Chances are you have a friend or neighbor who has worked with in the past. Everyone from the owner to our bookkeeper to our warehouse manager lives in and is invested in this community. Our reputation matters to us and it’s why we aim to offer the best value in the marketplace.
Wanting a design that’s both functional and fabulous?
smart design can help you achieve the best of both worlds.
