Swartz Celebrates the 47-Year Legacy of Tim Weaver

In a quaint Pennsylvania neighborhood, in the summer of 1976, Lester Feltman watched the sun cast golden hues over the manicured lawns and picket fences. A salesman at Swartz Supply Company (known today as Swartz Kitchens and Baths), Lester knew what it takes to craft kitchens that hold not just plates and pans, but the heartbeats of families.

Lester had hired the boy next door, 19-year-old Tim Weaver, to tend to his own yard. Lester knew Tim was a hard worker – he’d already worked on a dairy farm and held several part-time jobs, including tree-trimming. With a determination in his eyes that belied his youth, Tim mowed the lawn with meticulous precision, ensuring each blade stood at the perfect height. The way he trimmed the bushes and edged the sidewalks spoke volumes about his attention to detail. Lester couldn’t help but notice Tim’s commitment to perfection, an essential trait in both crafting cabinetry and designing kitchens. Recognizing something special in the young man’s dedication, Lester decided to encourage Tim to consider working with Swartz Supply Company.

These days, you rarely hear about neighbors chatting over the fence, but that’s how Tim Weaver found a 47-year career with Swartz Kitchen and Baths! One day, after paying Tim for mowing the lawn, Lester struck up a conversation with him about the weather, the neighborhood, and eventually, his future. “Tim,” Lester began, a twinkle in his eye, “have you ever thought about making a career out of your eye for detail?”

Tim wiped his brow. “I’ve always enjoyed making things look just right, but I never thought about a career in that.”

Lester leaned in, his voice carrying the wisdom of experience. “I work over at Swartz Supply Company, a place where we create kitchens that hold stories and memories. We need folks with an uncanny attention to detail. Would you consider coming on board as a salesperson like me?”

Tim’s eyes widened, and a mixture of surprise and excitement danced across his face. Yet neither could have imagined how the seed Lester planted that day would grow into a decades-long journey. Tim joined Swartz and quickly proved himself as a talented and dedicated employee.

Time marched on, and over the years, Tim’s commitment to excellence didn’t waver. In a rapidly changing world, where manual gave way to digital, he stood strong as a beacon of unwavering precision. He became a manager at the brand-new Lancaster office and later returned to Harrisburg as a Kitchen and Bath Designer, where he oversaw design reviews, ensuring that every kitchen ordered (from $15k to $130k+) was infused with his impeccable touch. Tim’s role was critical, ensuring that each kitchen and bath design met the exacting standards for which he was initially ‘discovered’.

Tim Weaver and Bella Kruba

As Tim closes this chapter and opens a new one, he leaves behind not just designs, but an indelible mark of dedication, integrity, passion, and precision. Could the meticulous boy next door have imagined the impact he’d make in the lives of so many? Tim has indeed played an instrumental role in the designs that have graced thousands of Pennsylvania homes, quietly but profoundly improving the lives of families that span multiple generations. His journey is a testament to the fact that every detail matters; and his story, a reminder that recognizing and nurturing the potential in others can change destinies.

With hearts full of gratitude and pride, we extend our congratulations to Tim Weaver on his impending retirement. What will his future look like? Tim told us he’ll still be here for Swartz Kitchens and Baths if we need his expert eagle eye on occasion, but he plans on spending more quality time with his loved ones and working in his own yard! Tim, do us a favor….If any detail-oriented young people in your neighborhood want to help with your lawn, would you please send them our way?
